5 REAL TIME IMAGE CAPTURE

Children play intimately in a variational space

The monument illustrates her idea of variation of space, and express the idea of children & youth by the climbing wall on the monument. Students can climbing on the monument to explore more space in it.

 Karen Clemmensen:

Secretive with low and angular

Use of 'low building' and ' angular' create the sense of secretive in the monument. The monument is flat, and few surprise space inside, also illustrated the idea of humble in Karen clemmensen design.

Monument Development:

Dorte mandrup-poulsen's building is all geometric form. She also like the sense of lightweight, which using the thin material, and glass, to make it lightweight.

The picture below is the architecture: community center herstedlund / albertslund.

There is a climbing wall on the building, which also related to her concept of Children & youth. i also add a climbing wall in the final monument, to illustrate her idea.

Karen clemmensen: 

Karen's building is creating the sense of humble. the building she design is not a tall building. She prefers the low building, with only two or three levels. But the scale of the building is big, and wide.

I choose 'low building' and 'angular' two concept, because it responds her idea more suitable. And also to response her design idea of 'humble', i hide a lot of surprise space in the monument, which can not see from outside.

Landscape development: 

At first, i try to find the similarity between both architects. They are all Denmark architect, and almost their building is located in Denmark. Denmark landscape is quite flat, but surrounded by ocean, and a lots of island. For their own architecture's landscape, the buildings are surrounding by the tree, and in a flat landscape.

• lmost consist of the island, most notably zealand, funen, Bendsyssel, Thy, Lolland, Falster and Bornholm, and hundreds of minor islands often referred to as the Danish Archipelago.

I decide to separate two Monument in two island, their meeting space is a plat form on the river, surrounded by the Rocks, students can sit on the rock exchanged their idea, and look two monuments.
